The Botsford Kidney Center provides comprehensive
support services to assist you and your family in dealing with the problems
associated with chronic dialysis therapy. These services include:
- Social Services
Renal social workers are available to provide counseling and psychological
support for you and your family. Assistance in identifying available community
resources, investigating your eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid and other
insurance coverage and help in coping with billing and financial problems
are offered. Assistance in obtaining transportation for dialysis treatments
is also available.
- Nutritional Services
Renal dietitians determine your nutritional needs and develop an appropriate,
individualized diet in accordance with the dietary restrictions necessary
for your diagnosis and chronic dialysis. The dietitian will assist you and
your family in planning menus which are both palatable and therapeutic and
respect your dietary preferences.
- Rehabilitation Assistance
Assistance in maximizing your rehabilitation potential will
be provided in the areas of physical and occupational therapy,
return to work, educational opportunities and other
activities to enhance your independence and self-sufficiency.
