The Botsford Kidney Center provides additional
services to guarantee your safety and comfort during your hemodialysis
treatment:
- Generator back-up is available to prevent loss of power
during a power outage to avoid discontinuation of dialysis
treatments during such circumstances.
- Staff / patient treatment ratios maximize quality patient
care and educational opportunities during dialysis.
- An exercise program is offered during dialysis for appropriate
patients using a specially modified stationary bike. The “Exercycle” helps
maintain a more stable blood pressure, prevent muscle cramps
and improve muscle strength and tone. It also helps pass
the time more quickly during treatment. There is evidence
that exercising during dialysis may improve the adequacy
of the treatment as well.
- Satellite color TV is provided at every station.
- Transient dialysis is offered for patients traveling
to the metropolitan Detroit area for special family events
or vacation. Assistance in obtaining transient dialysis
when you travel is also provided.
- The Botsford Kidney Center is an independent chronic
dialysis facility where patients and families are encouraged
to communicate with the administrative and professional
staff who are always on the premises and immediately accessible.
